Caldwell Woman Arrested in Brazos County for Expired License Plate Warrant
Madyson Nicole Batson, 29, of Caldwell, Texas, was taken into custody by the Bryan Police Department on March 6, 2025, at midnight for an outstanding warrant related to an expired vehicle registration. The charge, which stemmed from a prior registration violation, resulted in her being booked into the Brazos County Jail with a total bond set at $429.
Under Texas Transportation Code § 502.407, operating a vehicle with an expired registration is a Class C misdemeanor, typically punishable by a fine of up to $200. However, when left unpaid or unresolved, such infractions can escalate into an active warrant, leading to an arrest.
Batson, who stands 6’1″ and weighs 155 pounds, was processed at the jail but has since paid the fine, resolving the warrant. While registration violations are considered minor compared to other offenses, Texas law enforcement continues to enforce compliance to ensure vehicle owners adhere to proper registration requirements.
