San Angelo Woman Arrested Again: A Violent Rap Sheet Continues to Grow

Josilyn Ira Hernandez was arrested once again on February 25, 2025 with a $40,000 bond, by Tom Green County authorities, marking yet another entry in her long criminal record. The San Angelo resident, standing five feet one inch tall and weighing one hundred and five pounds, was booked on two charges of assaulting a peace officer or judge, a charge of assault causing bodily injury in a family violence case, and a second-offense driving while intoxicated. Her bond was set at forty thousand dollars.
This latest arrest is only the newest addition to a criminal history spanning nearly a decade, with at least nine prior arrests dating back to 2017. Hernandez has been charged multiple times for violent offenses, particularly assaults on law enforcement, along with charges for resisting arrest, evading law enforcement, and repeated drunk driving incidents.
On December 18, 2023, she was arrested in Tom Green County on three separate counts of assaulting a peace officer or judge, with her bond set at sixty thousand dollars. Just months prior, she was booked on September 23, 2023, for a second-offense driving while intoxicated charge. Earlier that same month, on September 3, 2023, she was also arrested for assault causing bodily injury in a family violence case, with a five thousand dollar bond.
Her legal troubles go back even further. In December 2021, she was again booked in Tom Green County for assaulting a peace officer. In July 2020, she was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, assault on a public servant, and resisting arrest. These charges resulted in a bond of eleven thousand five hundred dollars.
Hernandez’s history of violent behavior against law enforcement began earlier, with a 2019 arrest that included assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, and public intoxication, along with a separate assault on a public servant charge. In 2018, she was booked for family violence-related assault and evading arrest. Her first documented arrest in 2017 included criminal trespassing and interfering with public duties.
With yet another violent offense against law enforcement added to her record, Hernandez could be facing severe legal consequences. In Texas, assaulting a peace officer or judge is a third-degree felony, carrying penalties of up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to ten thousand dollars. Given her multiple prior convictions, the court could seek enhanced sentencing, potentially extending her time behind bars significantly.
Tom Green County prosecutors will likely take her escalating pattern of violence, multiple DWI offenses, and repeated disregard for law enforcement into account as they move forward with her case. Given her history, this may be her most serious legal battle yet.
