College Station Woman Arrested for High BAC DWI in Brazos County
Emma Claire Lewis, a 19-year-old resident of College Station, Texas, and former Texas A&M student, was arrested in the early hours of November 1, 2024, by the Bryan Police Department on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) greater than 0.15. The arrest took place near the 100 block of Holleman Drive West. According to booking records, Lewis is 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 108 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.
The charge, under Texas Penal Code § 49.04(d), elevates a standard DWI to a Class A misdemeanor due to the high BAC level—nearly double the legal limit of 0.08. This enhancement reflects a greater level of impairment and carries steeper penalties. If convicted, Lewis could face up to one year in jail, a fine of up to $4,000, a license suspension of up to two years, and mandatory installation of an ignition interlock device, along with possible alcohol education or treatment requirements.
She was booked with a total bond set at $4,000. As of now, no additional charges or court dates have been disclosed.
