Darlington Woman Arrested for Hit-and-Run in Florence County

Regan Marie Mills, 18, of Darlington, South Carolina, was arrested on March 7, 2025, at 10:10 a.m. on a hit-and-run charge involving property damage. Mills was taken into custody and booked into the Florence County detention facility following an incident in which she allegedly failed to remain at the scene of an accident involving another vehicle.

Under South Carolina law (S.C. Code § 56-5-1220), drivers involved in a collision resulting in property damage are legally required to stop, provide information, and render aid if necessary. Failure to do so constitutes a misdemeanor offense, carrying potential penalties of up to one year in jail, fines, license suspension, and possible restitution for damages.

Authorities have not released details regarding the extent of the property damage or whether Mills has been released on bond. Hit-and-run offenses are taken seriously in South Carolina, as they hinder accident investigations and place a burden on victims seeking compensation. Law enforcement continues to emphasize the legal responsibilities of drivers involved in roadway collisions.
