Clearwater Woman Booked for Second DUI in Just Over a Year

Mica Alexandria Freppon, a 28-year-old resident of Clearwater, was arrested on June 9, 2023, at 4:07 p.m. by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of Driving Under the Influence. The arrest occurred in the 2700 block of Roosevelt Boulevard, marking her second DUI-related booking in just 14 months.

Freppon, who is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds, was previously arrested on April 7, 2022, by the Largo Police Department for the same offense. In that case, she was released on a $500 bond. The repeated nature of the charge may now expose her to enhanced penalties under Florida law, which imposes stricter consequences for second DUI offenses within five years.

Under Florida Statute § 316.193, a second DUI conviction can result in up to 9 months in jail, a fine ranging from $1,000 to $2,000, mandatory installation of an ignition interlock device, a five-year driver’s license revocation (if the second offense is within five years), and vehicle impoundment.

No bond amount has been publicly listed for the most recent arrest. The case is expected to move forward in Pinellas County court, where prosecutors may consider the prior conviction in determining sentencing recommendations.
