Lauren Revels

Tampa Teen Arrested for DUI, Released on Cash Bond

Lauren Brooke Revels, 18, of Tampa, was arrested in the early morning hours of February 17, 2025, after being charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI). The Tampa Police Department (TPD) took Revels into custody at approximately 1:50 a.m. near the I-275 North Hillsborough Ramp and East Hillsborough Avenue. She was booked at 3:21 a.m. and later released on February 18, 2025, at 2:28 a.m., after posting a $500 cash bond.

According to booking records, Revels’ blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was recorded at 0.143 and 0.145, exceeding Florida’s legal limit of 0.08%. She faces a second-degree misdemeanor under Florida’s DUI statute (Charge Code: TRAF1012), which applies to first-time offenders with no aggravating factors such as injuries or excessive BAC levels above 0.15%.

Under Florida Statute 316.193, a first-time DUI conviction carries penalties including up to six months in jail, fines between $500 and $1,000, a one-year license suspension, and mandatory DUI education courses. Given her BAC level, the court may impose additional penalties such as an ignition interlock device requirement or extended probation.

Revels’ case has been assigned court case number 25-CT-002644, and further legal proceedings will determine the outcome. The circumstances surrounding her arrest, including whether she was involved in reckless driving or a traffic stop, have not been disclosed.

With DUI incidents remaining a major public safety concern, particularly among young drivers, authorities continue to emphasize enforcement efforts to deter impaired driving. Revels’ legal process will proceed in the coming weeks as she faces the consequences of the charge.
