Florida Woman Arrested for DUI and Assault on Law Enforcement Officers in Tampa
On February 12, 2025, 35-year-old Amber Leigh Estes was arrested by the Tampa Police Department and booked on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following an alleged confrontation with law enforcement. Estes, a Webster, Florida resident, is described as 5’4” tall, weighing 120 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Authorities charged Estes with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, a third-degree felony under Florida Statute 784.07, each carrying a $5,000 bond. This charge applies when a person intentionally strikes or touches an officer against their will, often resulting in enhanced penalties due to the victim’s law enforcement status. Additionally, she was charged with resisting an officer with violence, another third-degree felony with a $2,500 bond, which applies when an individual uses force to obstruct an officer’s lawful duties.
Alongside these charges, Estes was arrested for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration over 0.15, a first-degree misdemeanor under Florida Statute 316.193, which comes with a $1,000 bond. According to reports, her BAC levels were 0.172 and 0.167, significantly above the 0.08 legal limit.
This arrest is not her first encounter with law enforcement. Estes has a history of previous arrests, including a 2024 charge for culpable negligence causing harm, a 2023 arrest for possession of THC oil, and multiple domestic battery charges dating back to 2018.
Following her most recent arrest, Estes was released on February 14, 2025, after posting surety bonds totaling $13,500. Her legal proceedings will now move forward in the Hillsborough County Court System, where she faces the possibility of prison time, probation, and fines if convicted.
